Terms of Service

Effective date: October 3, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Cara, provided by Amrezo Inc. ("Amrezo," "we," "us," or "our"). By downloading, purchasing, or using Cara, you agree to these Terms and Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement. If these Terms conflict with Apple's standard EULA, Apple's terms control to the extent required for an App Store application.

Eligibility and availability

Cara is intended only for adults age 18 or older in the United States and is designed for self-development in English. You must be legally capable of entering into these Terms.

What Cara is — and is not

Cara is an AI wellness companion intended to help you think out loud, reflect, notice patterns, and work toward personal goals.

  • Cara is not a therapist, clinician, doctor, medical device, healthcare service, emergency responder, or continuous monitoring service.
  • Cara does not diagnose conditions, prescribe treatment or medication, guarantee outcomes, contact emergency services, or determine that anyone is safe.
  • AI replies, transcripts, reflections, observations, and memories may be inaccurate, incomplete, or inappropriate. Review important information and correct Cara when something does not fit.
  • Do not rely on Cara for medical, legal, financial, emergency, or other professional advice. Seek a qualified professional when appropriate.

If you or someone else may be in immediate danger, call local emergency services. In the United States, call or text 988 for the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. Cara's support page provides additional region-specific resources, but those third-party resources are not operated by Amrezo.

Your use of Cara

You may use Cara only for lawful, personal, interactive use and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:

  • Use Cara if you are under 18.
  • Automate, resell, sublicense, share paid access, or operate unattended continuous calls.
  • Attempt to bypass subscription, usage, security, DeviceCheck, provider-route, or service protections.
  • Reverse engineer Cara except where applicable law expressly permits it.
  • Use Cara to violate another person's rights, upload content you do not have the right to provide, interfere with the service, or engage in illegal, harmful, fraudulent, or abusive activity.

You are responsible for the content you choose to share and for securing your device, Apple Account, exported files, and access to Cara.

Subscriptions and fair use

A paid monthly subscription is required for live calls and messages. Saved history, exports, deletion controls, and support resources remain accessible without an active subscription.

  • The App Store shows the current price and any introductory trial available to your Apple Account before you confirm a purchase.
  • Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm a purchase or when an eligible free trial ends.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the current period ends.
  • You can manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple subscription settings. Canceling stops future renewal but does not delete your history.
  • Purchase restoration and entitlement verification use Apple StoreKit.

The subscription provides unlimited personal, interactive conversations subject to service availability and fair use; it does not create a monthly minute allowance or automatic overage charge. Service protections may temporarily limit repeated connections or excessive use. After four minutes without detected participation, Cara may check whether you are present and end the call after another minute without a response. You may start again when ready.

Refunds

Apple processes all purchases and refunds. Amrezo cannot directly issue an App Store refund. Refund eligibility is determined by Apple under its policies and applicable law. You may submit a request through Apple's Report a Problem service.

Privacy and AI processing

Our Privacy Policy explains Cara's local storage, optional private iCloud sync, AI processing through OpenAI and AIProxy, optional processing through OpenRouter and TypeSafe's Jev service, and your export and deletion controls. Separate in-app consent is required before Cara sends your personal information for AI processing.

Your content

You retain your rights in content you provide. You authorize Amrezo and the service providers described in the Privacy Policy to host, transmit, process, and generate output from that content only as needed to provide, secure, and maintain Cara as described in the Privacy Policy. You are responsible for ensuring you have the necessary rights to content you submit.

Cara may let you export content and AI-generated materials. You are responsible for reviewing exported material before relying on or sharing it.

Third-party services

Cara depends on services provided by Apple, OpenAI, AIProxy, and, when enabled, OpenRouter and TypeSafe. It also links to independent crisis-support resources. Their services, availability, and processing are governed by their own terms and policies. Amrezo does not control third-party services and is not responsible for their independent content or conduct, subject to applicable law.

Service changes and availability

We may update, modify, suspend, or discontinue features to improve Cara, address security or legal requirements, manage provider availability or cost, or maintain the service. AI and network services may be delayed, unavailable, or limited. Unfinished background processing may resume when Cara is reopened, but arbitrary background execution is not guaranteed.

We may suspend access for material violations of these Terms or to protect users, Amrezo, providers, or the service. Where practical and legally required, we will provide notice.

Intellectual property

Cara, its software, design, branding, and related materials are owned by Amrezo or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. These Terms give you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Cara in accordance with these Terms and Apple's standard EULA. No other rights are granted.

Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Cara is provided "as is" and "as available." Amrezo disclaims implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, non-infringement, and uninterrupted availability. We do not warrant that AI output will be accurate or that Cara will meet your needs. Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties or rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Amrezo and its directors, officers, employees, affiliates, and licensors will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, goodwill, or opportunities arising from Cara. Amrezo's total liability arising from Cara will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid for Cara during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim or CAD $100.

These limitations do not apply where prohibited by law, including liability that cannot be limited for fraud, wilful misconduct, gross negligence, personal injury, or statutory consumer rights.

Indemnity

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify Amrezo from third-party claims, damages, and reasonable costs arising from your unlawful use of Cara, your violation of these Terms, or content you submit without the necessary rights. This obligation does not apply to the extent a claim results from Amrezo's own conduct.

Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable there, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. The courts located in Ontario, Canada will have exclusive jurisdiction, except where the consumer laws that apply to you require a different forum or governing law.

Before filing a claim, please contact support@messagecara.com so we can try to resolve the issue informally. Nothing here limits rights or remedies that cannot be waived under applicable consumer law.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as Cara changes. We will post the revised Terms with a new effective date and provide any additional notice required by law. Continuing to use Cara after revised Terms take effect means you accept them, except where applicable law requires express consent.
